Since I was a child I adored the tale of an old witch, Babayaga that lived in a house upon a chicken leg.

This creepy and fantastical character from the folktale is the inspiration behind these little guys iI began to make in 2011f rom the scraps of my many bird installations over the years.
My love for houses and birds is combined with my love for the old Eastern European fairy tale to create these cute and creepy creatures.
Each house is a one of a kind piece

They are made of basswood with hand colored carbon transfers upon plastic and feather bodies. The legs are made of molded plastic with bendable wire. The roofs are all hand made from tiny wood shingles.
The houses themselves stand at 5" high and about 2" wide.
