This image represents a reoccurring theme I utilize in my works of a figure standing in a body of water. In this particular case, the figure is replaced by a house and the water is the forest bed.
I have printed several different versions of this negative, each print treated differently.
The image is a silver gelatin print that has been chemically toned, is hand colored with acrylics and has ink text and drawings of tiny houses.
The print has been cold press mounted on an MDF board and coated in my home made beeswax/dammar/carnauba wax encaustic. It comes mounted in a custom made waxed wooden frame.
The end result eliminates the need for glass. The wax preserves the image while making whole object simple to maintain and keep clean.
The piece is 12" x 11.75" x 1.5"
