Sleeepwalker Tower #2
This is the second installment from my SLEEPWALKER TOWER sculpture series.
I have done SLEEPWALKERS as drawings, collage, photos and sculptures. It is a recurring theme. The tower can have anywhere from 3 to 30 houses incorporated into them.
This tower has 4 individually handmade houses that are precariously sitting on top of one another. the houses are constructed out of basswood with carbon transfers on their 4 walls with wooden shingles.
The tower alone stands at 11" tall and has an approx. maximum width of 5" x 4"
The base it sit on is a custom handmade hardwood treated with stain. It is 3.5" x 4" x 3/4"
The form creates the curve that has occurred in many of my other works. The shape of the curve is a repeated reference to the shape of the driveway that the house I grew up on sat on top of.
